Ordination

Ordination is a significant milestone in a minister’s journey, marking their formal recognition to serve in their spiritual calling. The network offers a structured ordination process.

At The LIFT network, ordination is not merely a ceremony; it is a comprehensive process that involves evaluation, education, mentorship, and preparation for the weighty responsibilities of ministry. The ordination process begins with a thorough examination of the minister’s spiritual life, biblical knowledge, and character development.

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.” – 1 Timothy 3:6

This assessment ensures that candidates are biblically sound and exhibit the character and integrity required for Christian leadership. Testimonies and attestation are sought from the candidate’s community (including Christian leaders they have worked with) to provide credible evidence of their godly lifestyles.

Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.” – I Timothy 3:7

Mentorship is provided throughout the process, offering guidance and support as candidates prepare for their various roles in ministry.

During the ordination ceremony, hands are laid on the candidate, and prayers are made for divine empowerment and anointing for their ministerial duties. This act is a public declaration of the candidate’s readiness to teach and guide God’s people. It is a moment of solemn responsibility and joyous celebration within the community.

Post-ordination, the network continues to offer support and resources to ordained ministers. This ongoing relationship ensures they remain accountable, nurtured, and equipped for their calling. By fostering a community that honours and upholds the significance of ordination, the network strengthens the overall body of Christ and enhances the effectiveness of gospel ministry.
